Description of Item

Supply & delivery of machine crushed ballast from black stone of 50mm size clean angular, hard and durable track ballast as per specification & stacking the same on cess of the formation or toe of the bank or at suitable places as directed by EIC at site. The rate includes all the cost of leads, lift, royalty, sale tax and other taxes & duties & all incidental charges complete as applicable. Tools, plants, & screens of approved mesh & dimensions required for inspection & passing at the time of measurements are to be arranged by the contractor. The rate also includes levelling of ground, if necessary, where the ballast are to be stacked.

Handling lifting & leading of ballast from stacks with any lead, which has been dully measured & spreading ballast on formation, track & turnouts to ensure uniform & compacted ballast cushion under the sleepers desired ballast profile. Spreading of Ballast should be as per the technical specifications. Spreading of ballast on the formation will be done only after supply is completed for a particular stretch as decided by Engineer-in-Charge and ballast stacks have been released for spreading.

Description of Item

Cutting of 60 KG, 52 KG, 90 R rails with contractor’s Abrasive Disc Cutter complete including men, material, fuel etc. true to square.

Drilling 26.5 MM, 32 MM diameter holes with Rail Drilling Machine in web of 60 KG, 52 KG, 90 R rails in track or on cess at correct locations including chamfering.

Installation of BG track as per methodology specified in para 4.0 of Section 5: Specifications in the Bidding Documents or any other methodology approved by the Employer in all locations e.g. straight, curves, bridges, level crossings, yards etc. including installation of SEJ and glued joints including installation and dismantling of auxiliary track. NOTE: (i) 70% of the rate shall be paid after placement of the sleepers, rails, fastening, initial squaring, initial alignment (generally corrected by eyesight) correcting sleepers spacing and Katcha Packing (ii) Next 15% of the rate shall be paid after 1st manual/ off-track tamper packing/ lifting/leveling /alining of the track and making fit for movement of moped trolley/motor trolley/material trolley/ ballast loory. (iii) Next 10% of the rate shall be paid after second manual packing including picking of slacks between 1st and 2nd packing and bringing the track parammeters within the prescribed tolerance limits to make track fit for 45kmph for working of track machines /material trains/wiring trains etc. and is certified so by the engineer. (iv) Balance 5% of the rate shall be paid after picking of any slacks etc. for making the track fit for getting ready for final inspection from Railways/IPRCL. (v) For the measurement and payment purposes, the length of track from central line of first special sleeper to central line of last special sleeper shall be multiplied by 2 in case of bridge and level crossing provided with guard/check rails and to be multiplied by 3 in case of SEJ. (vi) The rate includes initial packing on 1st day, 1st through packing on 2nd day, 2nd through packing on 3rd day and Picking up of slacks, as required, from 4th to 9th day. The speed on 1st day will be 20 kmph and the same will be relaxed to 45 kmph on 9th day after aforesaid activities.

Through packing of track as per procedure prescribed in latest edition of Indian Railways Permanent Way Manual.

For PSC sleeper Track with sleeper density of 1540 sleepers/km or more.

First or second Through packing of track of all sleeper density including giving a general lift as desired to eliminate sag after deep screening work, lifting of track, lowering of track and major realignment of curves and formation rehabilition as per procedure prescibed in latest edition of IRWPM. Note: General lift is normally 25mm and isolated lift may be upto 25mm.

For PSC sleeper Track with sleeper density of 1540 sleepers/km or more.

Third or Subsequent Through packing of track of all sleeper density including picking of slacks as required after second through packing, subsequent to Deep Screening work as per procedure prescribed in latest edition of IRPWM. This item can also be used after lifting/regarding/realignment works also. Note: General lift is normally 25mm and isolated lift upto 50mm .

For PSC sleeper Track with sleeper density of 1540 sleepers/km or more.

Installation of PSC fan shape turnouts, derailing switches 60 KG / 52 KG including lead rails as per RDSO layout drawings including katcha packing with bars or off track tampers for 20 KMPH speed. Fouling marks of size 1500x250x225 MM in M20 grade cement concrete including engraving the letters “FM”, white washing with two coats and painting the letters in black enamel paint indicating the numbers of vehicles duly fixed at site.

First and second manual through packing of points and crossing including gauging, fittings recoupment, elimination of sag and to the required alignment as per provisions of Indian Railways Permanent Way Manual for raising the speed from 20 kmph to 45 kmph. Work will be done under traffic block condition. Note.: 1. Each set comprises of 3 pairs of rails 6.5m long only. 2. Description of Item

Alumino thermit welding of 60kg/52 kg rail joints or combination joints of 60kg/52kg rail by pre-heat (SKV) welding technique using compressed air petrol/LPG for preheating, three piece pre-fabricated moulds (Zircon washed) single shot crucible fitted with automatic tapping thimbles with all labour, materials including supply of portion, tools and plants, aligning of rails, placing & fixing of mould, preheating, welding, mechanised trimming, grinding with profile grinder (including riser), testing, marking, painting with one coat of high build epoxy paint (two pack conforming to RDSO specification no. M&C/PCN-111/88) on the welded area up to 10 cm on either side. The work is to be completed in all respects as per IRS: T-19-2012 with latest updates and in accordance with “RDSO Manual for Fusion Welding of Rails by Alumino Thermic Process with up to date correction Slips in free rails or 3/10/20 rail panels. The work to be done under supervision of trained welding supervisor and carried out by trained welder having valid competency certificate from RDSO/TPP, Lucknow. Ultrasonic testing of welded joints shall be paid separately under relevant items. Note: 1) In case only portion is supplied by the contractor but welding is not done the rate shall be payable @ 60% of the item rate. 2) In case welding portion is supplied free of cost by IPRCL, the rate shall be payable @ 40% of the item rate. 3) The above provision in note (1) & (2) shall be operated with the specific approval of CGM/IPRCL

Construction of service buildings, Crew guard rest room, weigh bridge room, security room and a cabin room etc. in yards and in mid section as per layout drawing provided by the employer and detailed specifications provided in section 5: works requirements of the bidding documents including preparation and proof checking of architectural plan and structural design and drawings. Rate includes cost of cement steel and all other materials and labour. NOTE: (1) The rates under the item cover the cost of construction of superstructure only. Foundations of the building upto plinth shall be payable under the relevant items of BOQ (2) For construction of single storey building, foundation of the building is to be designed for double storey. (3) For building proposed to be built for more than four stories should be designed as framed structure only. (4) Additional 50% rates over and above the accepted rates shall be payable for construction of Isolated buildings outside ‘Station Section’ (‘Station Section’ for this purpose will mean the section between outermost facing points of a station) such as gate lodges, SP/SSP, Relay Hut, IBH building, gate lodge cum IPS building at interlocked gates. The additional rates shall be applicable on foundation as well as in superstructure items. Foundations of the building upto plinth shall be payable under the relevant items of BOQ (2) For construction of single storey building, foundation of the building is to be designed for double storey. (3) For building proposed to be built for more than four stories should be designed as framed structure only. (4) Additional 50% rates over and above the accepted rates shall be payable for construction of Isolated buildings outside ‘Station Section’ (‘Station Section’ for this purpose will mean the section between outermost facing points of a station) such as gate lodges, SP/SSP, Relay Hut, IBH building, gate lodge cum IPS building at interlocked gates. The additional rates shall be applicable on foundation as well as in superstructure items. (5) The rates do not cover General Electrification of buildings and the same shall be payable under standard BOQ Bill No. 33 : ELECTRICAL GENERAL SERVICES WORKS.

Construction of residential buildings for staff accommodation near railway stations, level crossings or any other nominated location as per layout drawings and standard railway plans for each type of staff quarters, provided by the employer and detailed specifications provided in para 4.3 of section 5: works requirements of the bidding documents including structural design and preparation of detailed structural drawings. Rate includes cost of cement steel, internal water supply and sanitary installations and all other materials and labour.
