M & L for carrying out Soil investigation by auger / rotary drilling method to carry out bore holes of 150mm dia and 10 mtr depth in any type of soil / rock and making trial pit size of 1.2m x 1.2m at 5m away from the bore hole in any type of soil / rock, collecting disturbed & undisturbed sample, conducting standard penetration test (SPT) , locating water table as per relevant IS codal provision at 1.00m interval or at every change in strata including conducting following site and laboratory tests as specified in the IS of collected sample and preparation and submission of report in quadruplicate copies alongwith soft copy :- (i) The following list of lab test to be conducted on collected disturbed soil sample and report to be provided. (a) Index properties of soil such as a grain size distribution by sieve analysis and hydrometer test, (b) Atterberg limits i.e. LL, PL and SL, Plasticity characteristics. (c) Natural moisture content (d) Particle size analysis test (e) Bulk density / dry density (f) Specific gravity,

(g) Free Swell index and swelling properties of soil (h) Organic matter in soil if any (j) Consolidation test (Compressed index value) (k) Direct shear/ unconfined compression triaxial test to determination of Shear properties, value of cohesion and angle of internal friction (l) Harmful salt if any (m) Ground water table & high HFL (n) Maximum and minimum levels of Ground water in the area with source of information (p) Ground water table observed during investigation (q) Expansive or problematic soil and its properties if any. (ii) Following aspects / recommendations are required to be covered under soil investigation report :- (i) A detailed site plan showing the approx location of each bore hole duly numbered as per log of bore hole to be enclosed with soil investigation report.

(ii) Scope of investigation, exploration technique, soil profile, bore log etc. (iii) Soil bearing capacity as per relevant latest IS Codes duly showing the various soil parameters / indices in tabular format and Recommended SBC at different depth of foundation (1.0m 1.5m, 2.0m and 2.5m) and different type of foundations like strip. isolated , raft and pile foundation in tabular format. SBC for different size of foundation also to be given as under: (a) 1.50 x 1.50 M (b) 1.50 x 2.50 M (c) 2.00 x 2.50 M (d) 2.00 x 3.00 M (e) for raft foundation. (iv) Chemical analysis of soil, if required, including recommendation and type of cement to be used for filling under floors and filling under plinth protection. (v) Recommendation for filling under floors and filling under plinth protection. (VI) SBC and its calculation based on 'N' value, shear strength and settlement criteria. (vii) Recommendation of type of foundation for different structure including building for double and multi storied construction.

(viii) RL of the ground level, foundation level and floor finish level w.r.t. bench mark and approx qty of cutting / filling in soil (strata wise) required to achieve average ground level for all bldgs (Tentative size of bldg will be given by engr in Charge) (ix) Nature of each stratum and engineering properties of soil and rock which may effect design and mode of construction of proposed structures and their foundation also the recommendation of GL/ founding level with ref to BM. (x) Photography record of testing. (xi) Recommendation as regards possibility of liquefaction of soil in case of saturated or partially saturated loose / uncompacted sandy soil. (xii) Possible corrosive effects of soil and water on foundation material. (xiii) Any other recommendation.

Carrying out Contour Survey Work having a grid size of 3m x 3m by Total Station / DGPS inclusive of Marking of Important structures, buildings and utility (Road, Buildings, drains, river, sewer line and Electric Lines etc) Contour will be plotted at an interval of 3 meter and drawing of 1 Soft copy + 4 Hard Copy in A0 Size Paper complete all as directed by Engr-in-CHarge. (Rate Inclusive of site clearance and removal of bushes / shrubs etc of any type, removal from site for making the area accessible and enabling for soil investigation and contour survey work)
