Replacement of Bucket Elevator Belt, Buckets and Allied Works In Bucket Elevator in Grinding Section PA Plant, FACT - CD.

Replacement of Bucket Elevator Belt, Buckets and Allied Works in Grinding Section : Arrange necessary tools and tackles for the work. Collect and transport the required belt,buckets etc from store to site.Make necessary site arrangements.After getting process clearence release the belt tension, dismantle the top and boot covers of the elevator. Decouple the elevator from the drive unit.Fabricate and mount suitable hand rotation fixture on the head drum . Hand rotate the elevator dismantle and take out all buckets from the elevator belt by unbolting the bucket fixing bolts.Dismantle the belt joint and take out the belt completely.Inspect the head and tail drums of the elevator.Inspect the bearings of the drums.The head and tail drums/bearings if required shall be replaced with spare ones as per the instructions from engineer in charge, all arrangements and transportation will be under contractor's scope.Any repair works required shall also be done by the contractor.Take the measurement from the existing belt (approx.56m) and cut the new belt accordingly to required length. Pull/erect the new belt on to the elevator drums.All required arrangements for joining the belt shall be done by the contractor. Prepare the ends/face of the belts for joining as per instructions from engineer in charge.Punch holes on the belt for joining as per template using hole punch only. Join the belt by using belt fastners and full tighten the fastner bolts. Release the belt after joining.Erect back the boot covers and adjust the belt tension by adjusting the tension adjusting studs.Replacement of the tension adjusting studs shall be done by the contractor as per the instructions from engineer in charge.Ensure proper belt tension.Centre the belt and adjust the sway. Fix each buckets one by one on to the belt by punching holes and bolting using bucket fixing bolts as per the template (apporx.130 buckets). The bucket fixing bolts shall be full tightned. The gap between the buckets shall be as per the existing design.Hand rotate the elevator and ensure all the buckets are fixed properly with correct gap. Adjust the belt tension and ensure no bucket is digging into the base. Necessary belt corrections shall be done inorder to avoid digging.Check the orientation of the belt with head and tail drums (sway adjustment). Assemble and erect back the top and boot covers. Tighten all bolts and ensure leak proof joint.Check the alignment of the elevator drums,gearbox and motor.Couple the head drum to the drive sides.Provide coupling guards. Take trial run of the elevator and service without any defects and leaks.Clear the site and transport the damaged belts,buckets,bolts etc.to scrapyard/area earmarked.

Repair of Bucket Elevator Belt in Grinding Section of PA Plant: Collect the required tools and tackles for the work. Make required site arrangements for the work. After getting process clearance decouple the elevator and dismantle the top cover. Dismantle the boot section of elevator. Take out the tail drum. Untangle the bucket elevator belt by any suitable means. After untagling, lift the elevator belt on both sides to head side. Lock the belt in required position. Make arrangements for jointing of belt. Remove bucket if required. Prepare the edges of the belt for jointing. Join the belt using mechanical fasteners and properly tightening the joints. The fasteners shall be fixed uniformly and symmetrically on the belt. Once the jointing of the belt is done, release the belt. Mount the tail drum and box up the gravity guide cover. Adjust the belt tension. Rotate the belt and inspect the buckets for any damage / loose or missing bolts. Box up the top and boot covers of the elevator. Couple the elevator head drum and gearbox. Take trails. Scrap if any shall be transported to scrapyard after weighing.
