CONTRACT SERVICES OF VARIOUS UNSKILLED WORKS IN ETT, PALAMPUR
Cleaning of Sheds/premises/drains: There are 50 No. sheds at Sperm Station Palampur. Individual bull is housed in each shed having covered and open area (loafing area). Since all the sheds are made of concrete and are required to be washed/cleaned daily along with water troughs and mangers. Water troughs & managers of all sheds are to be disinfected with bleaching power on alternate day basis. All drains are to be cleaned & disinfected daily. To maintain the hygienic conditions in the sheds, they are to be coated with lime on wall ate least once in six months and flooring is to be bleached twice weekly to avoid growth of moulds and use of blow lamps at least once in six months. The above work(s) are to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Bull Management: Presently Sperm Station Palampur has 16 bulls which may be increased to 22 in near future. The washing and grooming of the bulls to be done daily on regular basis. The fodder/feed from store to sheds is to be lifted twice daily on regular basis. The above work(s) are to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Semen Collection from bulls: Presently the semen collection is done two days per week & twice daily on collection day. Bulls are to be brought in the collection arena from their individual pens and to be restrained properly during semen collection. The bulls are to be taken back to their sheds after semen collection during these two days. The cleanliness of collection arena including washing of floor rubber mats used during collection and washing of dirt/dust/dung/urine on the floor of collection yard. The above work(s) are to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Agriculture Work: In approximately 1-hectare land in Sperm Station and 7- hectare land in JCBF, the requisite work is daily harvesting of fodder @ 6.5-9.0 quintals/day with the regular workers (depending upon the availability of fodder) and its transportation from the fields to the chaff cutter. This work is seasonal. Manuring of fields as and when required. Cultivation of fodder crops, grasses and trees. Green fodder procurement from fodder trees like lopping, green fodder harvesting from crops. Development of fields for cultivation. Removal of weeds and unwanted bushes. Loading/unloading of F.Y.M. Farm in departmental tractor/trollies. The agricultural work is to be done along with the regular workers. The above work(s) are to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Maintenance of campus in 4 kanal area: Maintenance of lawns, hedges, seasonal flowers, flower beds, their manuring, plantation and weed removal. Face lifting on special occasions like painting with lime and terracotta/snow sum/apex paints of required building/sheds etc. Cleaning of the entire campus including roads inside the campus, removal of unwanted bushes/shrubs/weeds (congress grass. lantana etc.) and destroying them by burning along with regular workers. The above work(s) are to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Agriculture work: In 16 hectare of land of JCBF Palampur is divided into two farms i.e. Home Farm Palampur & Banuri Farm separated by 03 kms. The requisite job is fodder harvesting (depending upon the availability of fodder), its transportation from fields to chaff cutter. Chaffing of green fodder, mixing and manger feeding. Cleaning of fields, removal of unwanted bushes/weeds, land development, seasonal looping of fodder trees, irrigation and sowing of seasonal crops, deweeding and fertilizer application is to be done as and when required. The above works is to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Milking of cows: The complete process of milking of milch cows twice daily and other miscellaneous farm works.
Cleaning of all Sheds/premises/drains: The cows/heifers and calves are housed in 08 sheds having covered and open area (loafing area). Since all sheds are made of concrete and required to be washed/cleaned daily along with open area, water troughs and mangers. Water troughs and mangers of all sheds are to be disinfected from lime on regular basis. All the drains are to be cleaned and disinfected from time to time. The dung to be lifted twice daily from sheds and open area. The feed/fodder from store to sheds is to be lifted daily to all the sheds. To maintain the hygienic condition in the sheds, they are to be coated with lime on walls at least once in six months and flooring is to be bleached regularly to avoid growth of mould and disinfection is to be done at least once in six months. The above work to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Seasonal Work in 7 hectares of land: Removal of unwanted bushes, shrubs/ weeds and destroying them. Transportation of farmyard manure from cattle shed premises to the fields in departmental tractor. The work is seasonal in nature and is undertaken periodically involving cleaning entire campus of Jersey Cattle Breeding Farm Palampur. The above works is to be accomplished to the satisfaction of the officer in-charge.
Lab Office, Seminar Hall & Livestock:- To handle the animals during embryo flushing’s protocols and surrogacy procedures. On conversion of existing ET Lab into IVF Lab they will handle the animal in OPU-IVF-ET protocols. They will be responsible for proper feeding, watering and cleanliness of the animals being utilized for ET. They will assist Veterinary Pharmacist in disinfection and sanitization procedures of the Lab. They will be responsible for cleaning of lab, offices, premises and maintenance of lawn etc. they will also be responsible for cleanings and maintenance of furniture/ fixture and equipment’s of Seminar Hall and Training Centre. Any other duty assigned by the higher authorities.Night Chowkidar :-1) To ensure safety of ETT building at night time.2) To ensure safety of laboratory and equipment’s installed in it at ground floor.3) To ensure safety of seminar hall and its furniture fixtures along with judicious use of electricity.4) To ensure that no unauthorized person is allowed to enter the premises of lab without prior permission.5) After the conversion of existing ET Lab into IVF Lab. he will ensure the continuous supply of electricity in the core Lab during IVF embryo production.6) Will also attend the visiting trainees / officers at night.7) Any other duty assigned by the higher authorities.
