REPAIR AND RESURFACING OF EXISTING BITUMEN ROAD AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS UNDER GE (I) NAVY PORBANDAR

Scarifying or picking gravelled, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces in area not exceeding 400 sqm, depth of pot hole exceeding 50 mm but not exceeding 100 mm including rolling over the broken surfaces using 8 to 12 tonnes power roller to required camber and gradient complete all as specified and as directed.

Repair to pot holes any depth, not exc 1 sqm each including sweeping free from dust and mud, or water , scoring sunken surfaces in roads, paths, etc. cutting around edges to at least 25 mm in depth, making good by applying tack coat 5kg/10 sqm, putting in premixed bituminous macadam (minimum binder content of min 4% by weight of total mix as per design mix using VG30) well rammed and sealed with binder 9.80 kg/10 sqm, blinded with 0.09 cum of stone chippings, 6.30mm size and again well rammed (including supply & laying premixed macadam binder and chippings), depth of pot holes exc 30 mm complete all as per IRC specifications and as specified.

Material and labour for premix bituminous macadam not exceeding 75mm consolidated thickness using hot mix plant and mechanical paver with min 4% binder (paving bitumen VG-30 grade) content by weight of total mix, rolled and compacted with power roller 8 to 10 tonnes to required cambar and gradient including cleaning of existing surface by brushing with wire brushes, sweeping with compressor air blower to remove all loose dirt etc and applying evenly apriming tack coat with bituminous primer @ 5kg/10 sqm of surface area using paving bitumen complete all as specified and as directed.

Note :- 1. Works to be carried in places and also patch repairs to depressions over 50 mm shall be carried out under this item. Rate under this item includes for cleaning the surface of pot holes and depressions and removing of the rubbish meterials as per site requirement. 2. Prepatation of mix in hot mix plant spreading by self propelling mechanical paver and rolling and compaction by set of rollers/vibrator as specified in particular specifications shall be carried out in hot mix plant which may be installed at distance as per norms but contractor shall be responsible to maintain the required temperature of mix under all conditions till it is laid and compacted. Unit rate against these items shall include for carrying out the works with deployment of these machinery for which nothing extra shall be payable and no deley in completion of work shall be acceptable. 3. During transit of material from hot mix plant to site shall be covered by tarpolin/ necessary covering.

M & L for preparing existing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc. sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc. and applying evenly a priming tack coat with bituminous primer @ 5Kg/ 10 Sqm of surface area using paving bitumen and laying Bituminous premix asphaltic dense concrete 30mm consolidated thickness with 5.5%(as per design mix) binder content by weight of total mix, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient complete using paving bitumen any penetration and rolled with 8 to 12 tonne capacity Tendam Vibratory Roller used in static mode complete all as specified and as directed by Engineer in Charge. Note for Item No. 2 to 4 :- (1) Design mix shall also clearly specify filler (cement %), total quantity & Bitumen & Rolling required for 30 mm thick semi dense and 75mm, 30mm BM. (2) Contractor shall be aware of local material and design mix prevailing in area. If Binder % workedout (in design mix) more then the % specified, same shall be provided wthout any extra cost.

M&L for cleaning the surface by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with compressor air blower to remove all loose dust and dirt etc/ taking out dust / existing material with compressed air and making the surface free from dust, drying the surface and applying one coat of polymeric modified bitumen emulsion (PMBE) by using self propelled emulsion distribution uniformly or towed emulsion pressure sprayer, equipped for spraying the PMBE uniformly and mopping the total undiluted PMBE @ 0.60 Litre per sqm in one coat (diluted quantity 1.20 litre/Sqm) dully diluted in ratio 3:2 (PMBE 3 Litre : Water 2 Litre) and ensure uniform finish of total area complete all as per manufactures instructions complete all as specified and as directed.

Note:1 Actual quantity of PMBE for two coats shall be as per trial patch and approved by Engr-in-charge, and shall not be more than 1.00 Litre (undiluted PMBE) per Sqm. Consumption of PMBE Shall be jointly recorded in MB for Record purpose. Note 2:- Minus price adjustment as per pro-rata of quoted rate for 1.0 litre (undiluted PMBE) per Sqm in one coats shall be made, if less quantity of PMBE as per trial patch and subsequently approved by Engineer-in-charge is used in work. Note 3:- Special care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks with 6mm to 2.36mm size coarse sand as per manufacturer’s instructions and quoted rates is included for repair of gaps/cracks. Note 4:- Quoted rates shall be deemed to included for trial patch 15mtr x15 mtr.

Removing existing Solar studs (Cats Eye), ABS speed breaker etc and re-fixing the usable Solar stud, Speed breaker etc complete all as specified and directed by Engineer in charge.

Providing and applying 2.5 mm thick road marking strips (retro-reflective) of specified shade/ colour using hot thermoplastic material by fully/ semi-automatic thermoplastic paint applicator machine fitted with profile shoe, 20% glass beads dispenser, propane tank heater and profile shoe heater, driven by experienced operator on road surface including cost of material, labour, T & P, cleaning the road surface of all dirt, seals, oil, grease and foreign material etc. complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply of Moorum/red bajri filling for road side berm including raising (or lowering) earth, spreading in layers n.exc. 15 cm thick; watering ramming/rolling complete all as specified and directed.
