REPAIRS AND UPKEEPING OF WATER SUPPLY INSTALLATIONS/FIRE FIGHTING INSTALLATIONS INCLUDING CHLORINATION PANELS AT NAVAL BASE AREA UNDER AGE E/M NO.1 OF GE (U-II) VISAKHAPATNAM

Material and labour for maintaining of potable /fresh water to achieve chlorination level by keeping concentrated efforts as per standard water quality specifications of maintaining PPM, PH, TDS levels, by checking time to time with standard testing equipments/lab test items if any daily before pumping of water to users from sump/OHTs to building OH tanks through raising mains etc. by adding chlorination granuals, chlorine gas etc. as required for disinfection of water as per standard at site as under :-

(a) ppm at sump level to pumping water to building OH tank - 2ppm, (b) pH value - 6.5 to 8.5, TDS- 300ppm (c) Ensuring water is to be free from E.coli and thermotolerant coliform bacteria and it shall not be detectable in any 100ml of sample water.

Notes :- The item rate is inclusive of following :-

(a) The contrator or his rep is responsible for maintaining quality of drinking water as specified above and to adopt latest standard of water treatment for providing specified potable water. (b) Contractor or his rep has to attend daily at all pump houses once in a day to check all the water parameters and sign in the register being maintained with pump house staff. (c) Register should be maintained daily and daily record of the same should be endorsed from users/MES rep at pump house, concerned Engineer-in-Charge as well as concerned medical team of respective unit daily. (d) Lab test shall be carried out once in a month from locally available Govt approved lab for (i) PPM, (ii) TDS, (iii) pH value and E-Coil or thermotolerent Coliform bacteria. test report be rendered and a record of the same to be submitted to department once in a month or whenever required or directed by the users and department depend upon the situation/quality of water.

(e) The rate quoted is deemed to be inclusive of adding required chemicals like soda ash etc., to maintain pH value and TDS as and when required.

(e) Required quantity of chlorine gas/ chlorine granuals/ bleaching powder required to be used at pump houses regularly and superchlorination to be done and the same shall be measured and paid seperately under relevant items of schedule. The amount/quantity of mixing chemicals, gas etc.,would be vary as per the quality of receiving water from time to time to bring the required ppm once checked before pumping the water from sump to OHT of user building. The necessary mixing up of granuals/bleaching powder for maintaining standard water and for superchlorination the existing staff/ manpower at pump houses shall be utilized if necessary.

The above specified job shall be carried out at each pump house as under :-

(a) Nausenabaugh Main pump house (02 Places), (b) MES Key pers PH, NSB, (c) INS Circars (d) Naval Park & Amzari Park, (e) INS Sathavahana,(f) MWC,(g) SMHQ, (h) INS Virbahu, (j) CE Navy office ph, (k) NCB, (l) HFDF Pump House, (m) Navy House (n) MMT (E) - 14 Nos.

M&L for cleaning of underground/ semi underground fresh water sump of 2.00 Lakhs gallons capacity by pumping out with dewatering pump the accumulated water up to the bottom surface and removing the complete silt sediment sludge from the sumps and depositiing and levelling as directed, cleaning the walls, ceiling & floor of the sump completely using high pressure water jet to dislodge all the mud, dirt algaue, fungus and layers of calcinations, vacuum cleaning to remove dislodged waste and cleaning with the bleaching powder after scrapping the walls and bottom of the sump completely using wire brush without disturbing the water supply to the area including applying one coat of white wash to entire sump externally as well as internally and writing details like Cleaning date / due date/ sump capacity with synthetic enamel paint complete all as directed.

Supply and replace copper battery terminals all as directed by Engr-in-charge.

Repair/ servicing of any type water level indicator by replacing wornout central movement plate, counter weight, centre diving wheels etc., ncesaary required parts at site for fully operational, replacement of front glass with PVC/rubber gasket and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of primer complete all as specified and as directed.

Supply & replacement of water level indicator, 36" dia as per IS and including numbering with radium stickering, heavy duty float, counter weight, heavy duty driving gear nylon wire fitted in all in GI housing, cutting the RCC slab and making good the slab, painting the exposed surface with two coats of synthetic enamel over a coat of red oxide primer complete all as specified and directed by Engr-in-Charge. Note: Make of water level indicator shall be got approved by GE before procurement.

Supply only calcium based, high strength chlorination chemical for disinfectant, in granual form for water treatment in factory sealed non returnable HDPE containers (40 to 50 Kg each) having chlorine concentration level of 70% complete all as specified and as directed. Make: Rayalaseema or its equivalent make as approved by E-in-C's branch and approved by GE.

Supply only chlorine gas in 100/900 Kgs cylinders to gravity feed gaseous chloronome plant all as directed. Note :- Testing the cylinder and repairs to outlet valve of cylinders will be the responsibility of the contractors and cost for applying mineral jelly to parts etc, deemed to be included in the cost quoted by the contractor.

Supply only for chlorination treatment of water with stable bleaching powder (SBP) (Calcium hypochloride) Grade I, availabilty Chlorine 32 %+ 1% min, Stability 1/15 Max, moisture 0.3% max etc., in 25/50 Kgs bags as ordered complete all as specified and as directed by Engr-in-Charge.
