Procurement of sand and Resanding of Slow Sand Filter No. 2 at Filter Bed of our Drinking Water Purification System for FACT Township in Thermal Plant of FACT (Cochin Division) at Ambalamedu, Kochi.
Supply and bringing to site fresh river sand and sieving to obtain sand of size 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm. The sand should be free of any dirt or contamination.
Resanding of Slow Sand Filter No. 2 1. After getting clearance from the plant, the top layer of sand shall be removed to a depth of 25 cm and taken to a location within the compound as instructed. 2. The remaining layer of fine sand shall be removed to a depth of 35 cm, transported to a convenient location and thoroughly washed by manual labour or mechanical means. The washing shall be to the satisfaction of the company’s engineer in charge. 3. Fresh fine sand shall be filled up in this layer in two instalments, levelling and maintaining horizontal uniform surface each time. 4. The remaining area of the bed shall be filled up with the old, washed sand and levelled up uniformly.
Washing of 70 m3 of recycled sand for removing mud and sediments. The work involves removing the sand , thorough cleaning and backfilling of Slow sand filter No. 02.
