TENDER ENQUIRY FOR SHAFT MISALIGNMENT CORRECTION (BOTH SHAFTS) - IN SHIP

Escher Wyss main shafting PORT & STBD)Post withdrawal of shaft-lines, the firm has to undertake advanced laser shaft sighting of both the shaft lines to establish probable misalignment of the shaft-lines w.r.t GB output flange. A report to be forwarded in this regard along with proposed corrective measures across the shaft line.As per OEM documentation

Escher Wyss main shafting PORT & STBD)Correction of misalignment by standard methods such as off centric machining of staves/ bearing carriers/struts, in-situ boring of bracket bossing, lowering/raising of “A” and “P” bracket or by any other method will be firms responsibility. The off centric machining values will be specified by the firm based on the shaft-line sighting. Assistance for fitment of staves and facility for machining (under firm’s supervision) at lathe will be provided by the yard.As per OEM documentation

Escher Wyss main shafting PORT & STBD)If the off-set values post sighting are way beyond the acceptable limits then the lowering/raising of “A” and “P” brackets needs to be restored to correct the miss-alignment. The firm has to undertake cutting, lowering and re-welding of the brackets as per the sighting values, Cater for A bracket and P bracket on the both the shaftsAs per OEM documentation

Escher Wyss main shafting PORT & STBD)Post correction of misalignment, final laser shaft sighting has to be undertaken and the same will be witnessed by user department/ ND(V)-QC. A report in this regard to be forwarded by the firm.As per OEM documentation

Escher Wyss main shafting PORT & STBD)Post satisfactory results on misalignment corrections/ shafting alignment values, the firm will undertake the insertion of shaft and fitment of shaft-line components. It is pertinent to mention that the flange to flange mating between GB output flange and intermediate shaft flange will be established by Gap and Sag measurements and values are to be within permissible limits. Same to be verified in dry dock and afloat.As per OEM documentation
