REPLACEMENT OF SLAB RECASTING PCC EARTHFILLING DRESSING AND GRASS CUTTING FOR RUNWAY AT AF STN BHUJ

Raking out sealing compound (Grade 'B' or Polyurethane sealent) from existing expansion joints of dimension 25 mm to 30 mm wide and 35 mm deep, removing the debris from site by sweeping the concrete surface with brooms, cleaning with compressed air, treating sides and bottom of the joints with primer as per manufacturer's directions and filled with preformed closed cell polyethylene backup rod/strip of 25/32 mm dia, sealing with pitch free polyurethane grey sealant (minimum depth of sealant above backup rod shall be 10 mm) conforming to BS-5212 (Type FB) and M&L for applying masking tape on edges of joints to prevent accidental spillage of sealant and removing the masking tape after application of sealant complete all as specified and directed.

All as per item No 1 above but construction/dummy joints of dimension 15 to 20 mm wide and 25 mm deep

All as per item No 1 above but construction/dummy joints of dimension 20 to 25 mm wide and 30 mm deep

All as per item No 1 above but construction/dummy joints of dimension 8 to 15 mm wide and 20 mm deep

Demolition of cement concrete unreinforced in ground floors and pavings exc 15cm thick (below or above ground level).

M & L for providing cement concrete type D2, 1:4:8 using 40mm graded stone aggrage as in foundations, filling and mass concrete complete all as specified and as directed by the Engr-in-charge.

M & L for 100mm thick cement concrete type B1, 1:2:4, using 20mm graded stone aggregate as in hard standing/ pavings in alternate bays including use of necessary formwork and finishing concrete topping even and fair without using extra cement and spike rolling to surface or making impressions of expanded metal , whilst the concrete is green complete all as specified and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.

M & L for providing cement concrete 1:3:6 C-1 (using 20 mm graded crushed stone aggregate ) as in coping ,kneelers ,apex, stones, bed plates,kerbs and the likes including weathering ,slightly rounded or chamfered angles and throating ,as directed by Engr-in-Charge.

Rough excavation n ecx 1.5 m deep and getting out any type of soil

Removing excavated material exc 500m but n exc 1.5km and deposited where directed.

Forming embankments including raising (or lowering) earth, spreading in layers n exc 30cm thick, watering,ramming/rolling and finishing to required size, shape etc n exc 1.5m high from base (Note : lead for earth 500m)

M&L for surface dressing n.exc 15 cm deep in soft/loose soil including cleaning away all grass vegetation, saplings, shrubs, brushwood, undergrowth, roots and trees n.exc 30 cm girth and removing rubbish upto a distance of 50 m outside the periphery of the area complete.

Preparation of joints and cracks prior to overlay/surface treatment. Remove all vegetation and debris from cracks to a minimum depth of 25 mm.dusting with air jets, treat the specific area with appropriate crack sealing material prior to application of slurry seal as directed and specified by the Engineer--in-charge. Fill all the cracks 4-6 mm wide, along with soft or sunken spots, indicate that the pavement or the pavement base should be repaired or replaced as stated below. Cracks and joints shall be filled as per latest MORTH specifications with a mixture of slow setting cationic emulsified bitumen type SS-2, water(6-12) %, filler (1-2) %, aggregate and additives(0.5-2.0)%. The quantity of slurry seal shall lies from 8.4 to 9.8 kg/m2 and residual binder content shall lies from 7.5 % to 13.5 % (% by weight of dry aggregate) . The aggregate shall consist of crushed stone dust,clean,sharp,hard,durable and uncoated dry particles and free from soft pieces,organic and other deteterious substances or other material that will cure to form a hard substance.

Tack coat is required if the surface is extremly hungry and dry all as directed and specified by Engr-in-charge.The proportions of slow setting cationic bitumen emulsion and aggregate shall be determined in the field and may be varied to facilitate construction requirements. Normally, these proportions will be approximately one part slow setting cationic bitumen emulsion to five parts aggregate by volume. The material shall be poured or placed into the joints or cracks and compacted to form a voidless mass. The joint or crack shall be filled to within +0 to -1/8 inches (+0 to -3 mm) of the surface. Any material spilled outside the width of the joint shall be removed from the pavement surface prior to constructing the overlay. Where concrete overlays are to be constructed, only the excess joint material on the pavement surface and vegetation in the joints need to be removed.
